I think you’re confused by my reference to there being no EhP1 for ECC in the main post? When I went to the SAP site, I couldn’t find any reference to it, so I assume that they started at EhP2.

yes, exactly. So Enhancement Packages are released for particular applications ?
if the one i mentioned is for Netweaver PI and you say there is no EhP1 yet for ECC 6.0, there may be another “EhP1″ but for ECC? actually i’m just confused about its numeration :$

Hi Eddai, great question. Two things to answer that:

(1) That enhancement package is for Netweaver PI (process integration (previously known as XI)). So that is talking about new functionality for a different application than the one I’m talking about here (ECC (previously known as R/3)).

(2) Ramp up means that it is available for some businesses, but you have to go through a special process of application to be accepted. The rest of the world calls it beta testing.

Hi Pete, thanks for highlights. i’m curious about Enhancement Packages. the day before you wrote this article, i had seen a post on SDN blogs that EhP1 was said to be ramp-up.

actually i do not know what ramp-up means, as eng ins not my mother language. does it mean EhP1 is available to public, released ?
